Årjäng city network selects Waystream

Årjäng City Network upgrades the city network for approximately 3000 customers using Waystream's ASR8000 and MS7000 switches.

Årjäng Stadsnät is a new member of the MittNät cooperation of city networks in the Värmland region in the west of Sweden. Årjäng City network now chooses to replace its existing equipment from another vendor with Waystream's new MS7000 for customer connections and ASR8000 for aggregation of the access network. A total of apx. 3000 customer connections will be upgraded. With the new Waystream switches, Årjäng gets a robust and fast fiber access that is easy to operate while being ready for growth and expansion.

- We welcome Årjäng to the Waystream family. With our new access switches, they get a platform to support growth as an ever larger part of society becomes connected and digitalized. The newly launched Waystream product family offers more opportunities for services and functions than before, something that both Årjäng and the entire Mittnät network will benefit from, says Susanne Torrbacka, CEO of Waystream.

Waystream has delivered equipment to Mittnät's city networks since 2015. Mittnät is a collaboration between nine city networks in the municipalities of Arvika, Forshaga, Hammarö, Karlstad, Kil, Munkfors, Vansbro, Åmål and Årjäng in the western part of Sweden. Årjäng has about 3500 households, most with a fiber connection to the city network.
