Waystream launches four new product lines
Waystream's new product series enable higher capacity and increased stability in existing copper property networks. The products enable speeds from 1Gbps to 2.5Gbps per household and will reach the market during the second quarter of 2022.
Sweden was an early adapter in the fiber expansion around the turn of the millennium. For cost reasons, it was common to lay Ethernet copper wiring in the property networks while laying fiber in the ground. Today, these property networks have capacity and accessibility limitations. When new building and construction today, you pull fiber all the way in the apartment or office.
Replacing copper property networks with fiber is both time-consuming and costly, as well as leading to temporary downtime for end customers. Through Waystream's new products, property owners, operators and city networks can postpone the replacement of their property networks and at the same time offer better services. One example is Business Hotels where all Business suits have an ethernet cable installed, but Fiber to the Building. All switches are backwards compatible with existing equipment, which enables smooth installation.
“Waystream has now developed product lines that enable higher capacity and better accessibility without having to upgrade existing property networks or change equipment in the apartment or office. By simply replacing the switch, the property owner, operator or city network can provide better offers to their end customers in a time- and cost-effective way,” says Fredrik Lundberg, CEO of Waystream.
Waystream has therefore developed eight new switches in four product series: ASR7300, MS7300, ASR7100 and MS7100.
Sales start and customer tests have begun, and the first customer deliveries will take place during the second quarter of 2022.
